Tallahassee has some wonderful places to ride and there are so MANY dirt roads that you could ride forever.
My favorite place to ride for exercise is the St Mark's trail off Woodville Hwy. The staff does a great job keeping the trail free of limbs - both on the path and at head level. A great Saturday ride is 16 mile ride down to St Marks for beer and burgers at either Riverside Cafe or Cooter Stew Cafe Bar and Grille. Enjoy the local scene and then a leisurely ride back to the trailhead on Capital Circle. Another great trail off St. Marks is Munson Hills Mountain Bike Trail. A single path trail that flies between tight trees, down into sand pits, and through scrub oaks and pines.
Other fun places to ride are JR Alford Greenway, Lafayette Heritage Trail, and Tom Brown.
My favorite is dirt road riding. Check out the Dirty Pecan 2019 the first Saturday of March, 2019. Join fellow dirt/gravel cycling enthusiasts on this epic ride of your choice of 60, 80, 100 or 150 miles on some of the most scenic dirt roads in the southeast. This scenic and rural route is over 75% unpaved, so a cyclocross bike or mountain bike is necessary. You’ll wind through grand southern plantations, oak canopies, farmland and pecan orchards on red clay and dirt. Pavement has been kept to an absolute minimum. But you can drive over the Georgia line and find a red clay road and start riding!
